Welcome to the live nativity on the Square
We’re so glad you’re here tonight!
As you experience the sights and sounds of the first Christmas, we hope you’re reminded of the hope, peace, and joy that came into the world through Jesus. This evening is our gift to the community — a way to pause, breathe, and remember what this season is all about.
Feel free to follow along with the songs below and celebrate with us as we tell the story of Christmas together.
Merry Christmas from all of us at 1C Church.
Lyrics
-
O come, O come, Immanuel,
and ransom captive Israel
that mourns in lonely exile here
until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel
shall come to you, O Israel. -
O little town of Bethlehem,
how still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
the everlasting light;
the hopes and fears of all the years
are met in thee tonight. -
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
the little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head;
the stars in the heavens looked down where He lay,
the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
but little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
and stay by my side until morning is nigh.Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask Thee to stay
close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
and fit us for heaven, to live with Thee there. -
Angels we have heard on high,
Sweetly singing o'er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria in excelsis Deo.
Gloria in excelsis Deo. -
We three kings of Orient are;
bearing gifts we traverse afar,
field and fountain, moor and mountain,
following yonder star.
O star of wonder, star of light,
star with royal beauty bright,
westward leading, still proceeding,
guide us to thy perfect light. -
Joy to the world; the Lord is come;
Let Earth receive her King;
Let ev'ry heart prepare him room,
And heav'n and nature sing.Joy to the Earth, the Savior reigns;
Our mortal songs employ,
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains,
Repeat the sounding joy.He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of his righteousness,
And wonders of his love. -
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem!
Come, and behold Him, born the King of angels!
O come, let us adore Him;
O come, let us adore Him;
O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord!Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning;
Jesus, to Thee be all glory giv'n!
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing!O come, let us adore Him;
O come, let us adore Him;
O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord!
About this night
Tonight is more than a live nativity. It is a moment for our community to come together and remember the hope that entered the world on that first Christmas. In the middle of busy schedules and bright lights, we pause to reflect on the peace that Jesus brings and the joy of sharing that message with our neighbors. As we gather tonight, we celebrate the light of the world, Jesus Christ, whose love still shines in the darkness and fills our hearts with hope and peace.
