We are excited to announce that on February 15 & 16 we will be hosting our first ever "Knot Normal" marriage conference. The biggest threat to any marriage isn't infidelity or miscommunication. The greatest enemy is settling for normal. Normal marriages lose hope. Normal marriages lack vision. Normal marriages give in to compromise. Normal is the belief that this is as good as it will ever get. And when we begin to settle for normal, it's easy to move from "I do" to "I'm done".
Marriage experts Justin and Tricia Davis will be leading our "Knot Normal" event. The event will begin on Friday evening at 7pm and conclude that evening by 10pm. Saturday morning will begin at 8am and conclude by 12pm. Registration for the conference is $50 per couple and that includes snacks Friday evening and breakfast Saturday morning. The registration fee does not include your room shall you choose to stay over. The link to rent a room at the Crowne is in the tickets link below. If you have questions or to register, please email Misty Rowe at Misty@1c.church. The registration deadline is February 10th.

Wednesdays, September 26th - October 31st at 9:00 am.
Keep It Shut: by Karen Ehman explores how to better control your tongue, knowing what to say and how to say it, and realizing when it is best to say nothing at all.
From Bible times to modern times women have struggled with their words. What to say and how to say it. What not to say. When it is best to remain silent. And what to do when you’ve said something you wish you could now take back. In this book a woman whose mouth has gotten her into loads of trouble shares the hows (and how-not-tos) of dealing with the tongue.
Christian women struggle with their mouths. Even though we know that Scripture has much to say about how we are—and are not—to use our words, this is still an immense issue, causing heartache and strain not only in family relationships, but also in friendships, work, and church settings.
Books are $16.50
Sign up by calling the church office 243-6445 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The day includes coffee and cinnamon rolls at 10:00 a.m., tours of camp (optional) and a fried chicken lunch. Special Guest Speaker is Ken Idleman, graduate of Lincoln Christian University and Past President of Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO. Music by Wanda Mountain Boys.

We are excited to announce that First Christian is adding a worship opportunity for families on Thursdays starting September 6! Worship will begin at 6:00 p.m. and run for an hour. This will be an identical service to Sunday's contemporary service. Childcare will be provided from birth to three years old. There are many people who simply can't attend Sunday morning services. Societal norms have changed. The lines of what used to be a typical weekend, have blurred. Work schedules, children's events and a transient society have pulled many away from the privilege and responsibility of regular worship. If you have friends, family, or acquaintances who would benefit from this worship opportunity, please start letting them know about this now. We believe that this time slot will provide a much needed service in our community!
Starting Point is where we help you know more about what we believe, share next steps, help you grow in your faith, and help you connect into the FCC family. Those who want to learn more about following Christ, being baptized, or becoming a member of FCC will find this gathering valuable. If you want to learn more about baptism or membership prior to the next Starting Point, contact Misty at Misty.Rowe@fccjacksonville.org. The next Starting Point is Sunday, August 26 at 10:45 am. in our Coffee Shop.
On Friday, August 24, our church family will deploy onto the campus of MacMurray College for our annual "Mac Move In Day". Each year we show new college students the love of Christ in a practical way as we help them carry all of their belongings into the dorm room that they will call home over the next 9 months. This event will be 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. If you are interested in helping, please meet us at the church at 9:30 a.m. to receive a free T-Shirt and join us in prayer before we head out!
